Relaxing Massage Therapy - Swedish, Deep Tissue, Thai, Shiatsu and more

Massage is relaxing, soothing and not only is it good physically but it's beneficial for the mind as well. Massage relieves muscle pain, body tension, improves blood flow and circulation and puts you in relaxation mode. There are different types of massage like relaxing massage, swedish massage, 4 hands massage, stone therapy massage, hydrotherapy massage, face massage, shiatsu massage, foot reflexology, thai massage, reiki, tulsa massage, tantra and tantric massage, sports massage, deep tissue massage, oriental massage, back massage, chair massage and others.

Among one of the best massages is the swedish massage. Swedish massage is pleasant and very relaxing with long gliding strokes and some oil application while a nice background music is being played. When the massage focuses on the back, your body will vibrate a bit because the movement will be fast and smooth and it will be repeated a few times. When a particular body part is given treatment, the other areas are covered with a sheet. I had the opportunity to do a swedish massage once during a cruise and it lasted 90 minutes and it was well worth the money. I felt really relaxed after.

One of the other massages I did was hydrotherapy massage. Like the name says, it's a treatment given with water as well. Hydro=water and therapy=massage. While the therapist is massaging a body part, warm water falls in this specific area from several showerheads. Oil is used during the massage. You are advised to wear your swimsuit during this massage.

Also, I did relaxing massage and you're given a general massage with oil. When your neck is massaged, it's very soothing. Not forgetting the thai massage I did before and this one was really a wonderful experience. While it's not as relaxing as the swedish massage since it's painful at times because they will press hard on your muscles and bones and even crack your fingers or toes bones and other parts as well like your back, you feel really great and light after the massage session. Thai massage is beneficial at relieving muscle and joint pains.

One other great massage techniques I would like to talk about is the stone therapy massage which is a deep and healing massage and involves the use of heated basalt stones of varying sizes which are placed on specific areas of your body. These stones expand your blood vessels and give you a nice sensation of warmth and comfort.

If you are given a massage treatment from time to time, it really removes body tension and accumulated stress. So if you have the chance to do it, give it a try because it's well worth it.
